Rainy Day/Indoor Workout

Low Jacks

Its raining out today, so we are brining the workouts inside.  This workout is great for anyone that is indoors with only a small amount of space to work out.  Its a total body working, using nothing but body weight and can easily be done in your living room or bedroom.

The workout consists of 5 movements and we will do a total of 4 rounds of these 5 movements.
  • 50 Low Jacks
  • 10 Dive Bomber Pushups
  • 15 Superman
  • 5 Bear Crawl (4-5 paces forwards, then backward = 1)
  • 15 Squat Jumps
rest 60-90 seconds and repeat 3 more times for a total of 4 rounds.
Keys to think about during each movement:
  • Low Jacks - Keep your butt as low as possible.  Your legs should really be burning by the end.
  • Dive Bombers - Try to get your head and shoulders as low to the ground as you can BETWEEN your hands, both forward and backwards.  If you need to take a break, try to do so in the down dog position instead of on your knees.
  • Superman - Focus on feeling the movement through all of the muscles in the back of your body (calves, hamstrings, glutes, lower and upper back).  Also, try to raise your hand higher than your shoulders.
  • Bear Crawl - Keep your knees bent and your hips low.  Focus on keeping your spine parallel to the ground. This will really engage your core.
  • Squat Jumps - Don't bend forward at the waist.  Drop your hips toward the ground to load the jump.  Sit on your heels, and then explode up, landing softly on your toes.

There is your rainy day workout.  Try to keep the best form you can.  It's better to go slower, taking a few breaks to keep the great form instead of rushing through with sloppy form.

If you have any questions, as always, let me know!
